Basic rules for safe use of computers and mobile devices.
Use only legal software from a known and trusted source. Do not install any unknown software, obtained from unknown or untrusted sources.
Regularly update your operating system and the applications you use.
In particular, web browsers, plug-ins and extensions in browsers, email client software, pdf file viewers, etc. should be regularly updated. The term "update" is understood to mean the installation of the patches published from time to time by providers to fix gaps and errors in both the operating system and software.
Anti-virus software should be installed and regularly updated on workstations and mobile devices.
Do not disable security mechanisms installed and activated on workstations or mobile devices.
Be particularly careful when downloading files from the Internet. Do not click on links in emails from unknown senders or open attachments attached to such e-mails. They may in particular cause the installation of malicious software on your computer or mobile device. This also applies to messages sent via other applications, especially those used on mobile devices.
Do not log in to TGE's websites via a link from an email, other type of message or the Internet browser. It is recommended that you log in by entering your login page address directly in the browser.
TGE never sends emails requesting the disclosure of login details or redirecting to a website which requires such details. In case of receiving such email, you should not respond to it, nor provide any login details.
Connections with TGE websites which require logging in, are encrypted. Each time you should check if the website address is correct and if it starts with “https://”. It is also recommended to check the certificate of the website.
The TGE websites should be used only on known (tested) devices. Do not log in to those websites using other people’s (either desktop or portable computers, nor tablets or mobile phones) and publicly available (Internet cafés, libraries, hotels, etc.) computers. There is a risk that malware is installed on these devices and will be able to intercept, in particular, login data (login and password).
Do not log in to the TGE websites via unknown or unverified networks (e.g. publicly available wi-fi networks).
Never connect unknown data carriers (e.g. flash drives or external drives) to your computer.
Passwords must not disclosed to anyone (even to administrators).
When using IT systems, especially those provided over the Internet, always exercise due care and apply the principle of limited trust. This rule also applies to telephone calls. Cyber criminals may sometimes claim to be IT staff or other seemingly trustworthy persons in order to defraud the data.
For password-protected systems, it is essential to follow the rules for creating and using passwords. Passwords should be sufficiently long and contain characters from different groups:
1. lower and upper case letters,
2. number digits,
3. special characters
It is essential that you do not use the same password for different systems and services. If a password is disclosed in one system, cybercriminals may try to use it in other systems or services to which you have access.
In case of suspicion or discovery of loss or disclosure of login details to another person, the access password should be immediately changed, or TGE should be contacted to block the account.
If any messages while logging in or working with the TGE system raise your doubts or the system behaves in a non-standard way – interrupt the operation and contact TGE immediately.
