The activity of the TGE Group is focused on commodity trading as well as clearing and settlement services. The TGE Group includes two subsidiaries:
Izba Rozliczeniowa Giełd Towarowych S.A.
Izba Rozliczeniowa Giełd Towarowych S.A. (IRGiT) holds the permission of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority to operate a Clearing House, by virtue of which it may perform the function of an Exchange Clearing House and clear commodity market transactions. Since June 2010, IRGiT has been clearing transactions on all markets of Towarowa Giełda Energii, i.e. the Commodity Forward Instruments Market with Physical Delivery, Day-Ahead and Intra-Day Market, Day-Ahead and Intra-Day Market for gas, CO2 Emission Allowances Market and Property Rights Market. IRGiT is also a member of EACH, an association of the largest CCPs in Europe. The membership in EACH attests to IRGiT’s compliance with the security and clearing standards applied by the largest CCP clearing houses.
InfoEngine S.A.
InfoEngine provides Market Operator services for electricity market participants on the basis of legal regulations set forth in the Transmission Network Code of Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. They define the Market Operator’s role with regard to the services provided by the Commercial Operator and the Balancing Provider. The Client base includes the largest Polish industrial customers, distribution system operators, wind farms and Polish and international supply companies. Out of the current electricity markets operated by TGE about 15% use InfoEngine’s services. This activity on the electricity market complements the offer for the commodity market operated by TGE and IRGiT.
