23-10-2026

23 October 2026, SDAC Press Release

The Multi-NEMO Arrangement (MNA) in Day-Ahead Market Coupling in Slovenia went live on 21 October 2026.

As of that date, Nord Pool and CROPEX have joined the Single Day-Ahead Coupling (SDAC) framework in Slovenia, contributing to enhanced trading opportunities and increased market efficiency in the area.

This successful implementation reflects the extensive preparation and close cooperation among all participating project parties, particularly the regional ones: APG, BSP, CROPEX, ELES, EPEX, EXAA, GME, HOPS, HUPX, MAVIR, NP and TERNA. Their joint effort in extending the SDAC solutions across Europe enables market participants to benefit from harmonised processes, enhanced competition and increased flexibility in day-ahead trading.

NEMOs and TSOs remain committed to close cooperation with all stakeholders to contribute to the successful evolution and development of both day-ahead and intraday market integration projects across Europe.

About SDAC
SDAC allocates scarce cross-border transmission capacity in the most efficient way by coupling wholesale electricity markets from different regions through a common algorithm, simultaneously taking into account cross-border transmission constraints, thereby maximising social welfare. The aim of SDAC is to create a single pan European cross zonal day-ahead electricity market. An integrated day-ahead market increases the overall efficiency of trading by promoting effective competition, increasing liquidity, and enabling a more efficient utilisation of generation resources across Europe.
