In March 2020, the WSE Group Consortium (TGE, IRGiT, GPW) in cooperation with the National Centre for Agricultural Support started the Agricultural Exchange Market – an agri-food platform which currently trades wheat, rye and corn.
In the first year of trading activity transactions concerned wheat and rye – both products in Class B. The volume for wheat reached 6825 tonnes, and 25 tonnes for rye. The number of authorised warehouses located throughout Poland is constantly growing and currently totals 41. Three brokerage houses have been admitted to operate on the Agricultural Exchange Market making the trading simple and fast. TGE is planning to expand its offering by adding a forward market where parties will be able to enter into contracts for agricultural and food commodities, primarily grains.
